FRIENDS and neighbours of a popular Barmouth businessman will pay their last respects to him, as the funeral cortège passes along the prom tomorrow.
The funeral is being held on Tuesday of Prof Richard Parry-Jones, who died in a tragic accident near his home last month.
The funeral is private and subject to Covid restrictions. However, friends and neighbours in Barmouth have asked to pay their respects, so the cortège will travel along the prom by the leisure centre at 10.15am.
North Wales Police have been informed.
There is also a Justgiving page set up in Richard’s memory, raising money for the Wales Air Ambulance and RNLI charities.
The family would like to thank everyone who has donated to help these services dedicated to saving lives, and for all the moving cards and letters of condolence.
"We are very grateful for these individual tributes and for each and every act of kindness," said Sara Parry-Jones.
Richard is pictured in a family photograph "which is how people in our community would remember him, as suits were for the City, not for Barmouth and Dolgellau," Sara added.
