A family fun day held to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at Maes Glas Caravan Park raised £700 for the Wales Air Ambulance.

The owners at the park decided to fundraise for the lifesaving helicopter charity because the park is based in a rural area, and they often see the Wales Air Ambulance helicopter land locally.

This is not the first time the caravan park in Sarnau has raised much-needed funds for the charity, reflecting on why they support the service, Tim Hill said: “We have always supported the Wales Air Ambulance. Living in a rural area, many miles from a hospital, it is vital that we have such a quick response to medical emergencies that only the air ambulance can provide.”

The successful family fun day saw 120 people attend the popular event. In the afternoon guests enjoyed a picnic and were entertained by Luke the ‘Close Up Magician’.

Tim and Sally Hill added: “Everyone really enjoyed themselves. There was crown making and ‘guess the name of the corgi’. In the evening we provided a barbecue and pig racing (not real pigs).”

Tim presented a cheque to Wales Air Ambulance community fundraiser Helen Pruett, who said: “Thank you so much to the owners for choosing the Wales Air Ambulance as the charity to benefit from its fun day

“ It sounds like a wonderful day, where people of all ages enjoyed a variety of different activities and entertainment.”
