CALLS are being made for urgent action to be taken on a “dangerous” road in Pwllheli that caused traffic chaos over the Easter holidays.

Councillors have been urging the local authority to take action to safeguard pedestrians after complaints were received that the pavements are too narrow on Gaol Street and causing dangerous conditions as cars mount them in a bid to pass each other.

A recent public exhibition was held for residents, organised by Pwllheli Town Council and Gwynedd Council, to discuss ways to ease traffic in the town.

However, following a ‘chaotic’ bank holiday weekend over the Easter holidays in the town, more pressure is now being put on the local authority to make changes.

A Gwynedd Council spokesperson said: “Officers from Gwynedd Council’s transportation and street care service will be meeting with representatives from Pwllheli Town Council next week to discuss the outcomes of the public exhibition and possible way forward.”
