PEOPLE have visited Silver Mountain Experience’s first-ever Heritage Weekend and there was lots of interest in the uniquely preserved heritage at Llywernog Silver-Lead Mine.
It was the first time Ore Jigger machinery had run at the mine since it closed over 100 years ago, and everyone really enjoyed seeing the newly restored machinery and waterwheels working again.
Ceredigion Museum and Ceredigion Archives brought in fascinating collections for the Mining Memorabilia stand, and everyone got into the spirit of the 1870s theme.
Children really enjoyed making badges with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales’s youth project Ceredigion Off-Limits.
Special thanks went to the Welsh Mines Preservation Trust and Cambrian Mines Trust.
