AN AERON valley campaign to buy a community pub has raised over £330,000.
The Menter Tafarn y Dyffryn campaign attracted over 600 donations including some famous faces, but on Sunday, organisers announced that the target of £330,000 had been surpassed.
The pub will now be owned by the community who plan to run it as a co-operative and ensure that the watering hole remains a hub for the community.
Organisers are currently tallying up the total and pushing ahead with the purchase of the pub.
They said: “Thanks to a huge team effort from the whole community, we’ve managed to surpass our target of £330,000 to buy the Vale of Aeron.
“We could be here forever thanking everyone who’s been part of this journey.
“Thank you, all, so much for believing this would be possible.”
The campaign group will publish the exact amount raised over the next week, and will contact investors in the New Year.
