SCHOOLCHILDREN have enjoyed a pizza the action at one of the Llyn Peninsula’s most acclaimed restaurants.
Pupils from Ysgol Hafod Lon visited Dylan’s Restaurant in Criccieth to take part in a pizza making workshop.
The youngsters got a chance to design and make their own pizzas, assisted by Dylan’s chef and kitchen staff.
They also got to enjoy a pizza feast for lunch before returning to school for the afternoon.
The session was organised as part of the ongoing Dylan’s Education Project. Dylan’s works with schools across north west Wales to offer opportunities to learn about seasonally sourced produce.
Workshops are designed to get children and young people excited about preparing, cooking and eating dishes using local ingredients.
David Evans from Dylan’s said: “The pizza making workshops are a lot of fun and always prove really popular with children.
“There’s plenty of opportunity for hands on practical learning, and the end product is a great reward for all the hard work and creativity.
“We’ve held several workshops across Gwynedd, Anglesey and Conwy since our education project was set up – on-site in schools and colleges as well as in our restaurants.
“We always plan the sessions to be fully accessible and inclusive, so that children and young people of all ages, interests and abilities can take part.
“We were delighted to welcome Ysgol Hafod Lon in Criccieth and hope this will be the first of many workshops with the school.”
Donna Roberts, Ysgol Hafod Lon headteacher added: “The pupils had a great time at Dylan’s. They particularly enjoyed the creative aspect of designing the toppings. And of course, getting to sample the finished pizzas went down very well!
“We’re really grateful to Dylan’s for making the session such an interactive and enjoyable learning experience.”
