A POPULAR pharmacist has penned his last prescription and retired after serving patients in Ffestiniog for nearly three decades.
At the end of November, Kevin Morris Jones served his last customer at the Blaenau Ffestiniog Moelwyn Pharmacy where he has been its owner and pharmacist for the last 27 years.
A native of Llandudno Junction he graduated at Cardiff and worked in South Wales before moving north to Blaenau Ffestiniog in 1989.
The retiring pharmacist said it was a “pleasure” to serve the Blaenau Ffestiniog community and promised he had “always done his best to incorporate new practices to enhance health care provision in the area”.
Mr Jones said: “A lot has changed since I moved to the area, it used to just be money on the counter in exchange for money.
“Nowadays we offer a huge range of services and have always adopted new practices when they became available in order to benefit our customers.
“But the time has come to move on and pass the responsibility of Moelwyn Pharmacy to a younger person, someone who can take on the mantle and develop and nurture the pharmaceutical service further."
