An Aberystwyth supermarket has told the Cambrian News it has not reduced the amount of time customers can park there, despite a sign suggesting otherwise.

There was uproar among residents and on social media when it emerged new signs had been installed at the Rheidol Retail Park, owned by Lidl, limiting parking to 90 minutes.

The limit was previously two hours.

However, a spokesperson for Lidl has said the time limit for parking at the retail park is not being reduced from the current two hours and that there will be no re-entry restrictions.

They said: "We can confirm that the car park management system currently being installed at Rheidol Retail Park is in common use across different industry sectors and is designed to ensure that parking spaces are available for genuine customers, by managing the availability of car parking spaces and helping to prevent misuse.

"The system allows for up to 120 minutes of parking, with a 10-minute grace period."
