A Pwllheli nightclub is set to reopen under new owners just weeks after its shock closure.

VENU, in Pwllheli, was sold last week after suddenly closing down following the August Bank Holiday with its staff left unpaid.

A new team of directors have confirmed they plan to open a VENU Bar at the site tomorrow (5 October).

This will be followed a week later by the opening of The Grill at Pwllheli at the venue on the following Friday, 12 October.

They have said that it was their intention to take on as many of the former staff as possible but said a new executive chef and general manager will be revealed next week.

“However, we are working very closely with the previous owners to ensure a smooth and successful transfer,” said the owners.

“We believe both Venu Bar and The Grill at Pwllheli has a bright future ahead, and with the size and potential of our current and new projects reflects that strong confidence.

“While most of our attention will focus on providing quality food service and exciting and current events to support the beautiful town, we know that the hospitality market is changing very rapidly in the last years and we need to be on the top of this transformation.”

Former owner Victoria Morris said: “I am pleased to confirm that after detailed negotiations over the last few weeks the future of VENU, Pwllheli has been secured and the business as been sold as a going concern.

“We wish the new management and owners every success and I am looking forward to working with them to effect a smooth transition into a new chapter for the business.”
