THE owners Huw Lewis Tyres have thanked their customers as they announce that the company has been bought out by a national chain of garages.
In an email to customers, Huw and Sue Lewis confirmed that the business, which has garages in Aberystwyth, Machynlleth and Lampeter, has been acquired by Micheldever Tyres as a going concern from Monday, 1 November.
The email says: “A new day, a new era and new owners for Huw Lewis Tyres.
Proud to announce that Micheldever Tyres have acquired our business as a going concern from 1st November 2021.
“A difficult yet positive decision in knowing that the new company, who are leaders in their field, will share the same principles that we have adhered to over the last 43 years of looking after our customers and offering fair prices and prompt service.
“As for reaching this milestone our gratitude is owed to you our customers your continued support over the years is the fuel to this success.
“There is no change in the short term but this ambitious company will no doubt have many things up its sleeve with training and special opportunities for our current staff as well as creating new opportunities.
“Thank you very much it’s been a pleasure.”
Micheldever Group is the largest independent wholesaler, distributor and retailer of tyres in the UK, selling over six million tyres nationwide.
Protyre, the retail branch of the company, currently has 157 garages across the UK
