DIVERSIONS have been put in place around an Aberystwyth roundabout as a fast food restaurant reopens its drive through.
McDonald’s reopened on Wednesday morning to cars with a limited menu and diversions have been put in place around the Parc y Llyn roundabout.
Those wanting to get their hands on a Big Mac will have to drive towards the Welsh Government offices and double back on themselves to enter a specially laid-out system in the McDonald’s car park, with people on duty to direct traffic.
A member of staff at McDonald’s told the Cambrian News that some cars started queuing outside the restaurant from 9.30am on Wednesday morning before it opened its windows at 11am.
The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 11am until 10pm.
Police in Aberystwyth will monitor the traffic situation with Ceredigion Road Policing Unit tweeting earlier today: “Patrols continue throughout the division and force.
"Some food takeouts are starting to open, which the highways will monitor so as to not cause traffic problems.
"Be responsible and dispose of off-site rubbish appropriately."
