An Aberystwyth garden centre is to remain closed despite an easing of restrictions.

The Welsh Government is allowing garden centres to reopen across the country, which saw queues gather in many parts of the country yesterday (Monday).

Newman’s Garden Centre, near Capel Dewi, however, is choosing not to reopen at this time and is asking customers not to drive to the site.

In a statement to customers, Newman’s Garden Centre said: "Although we would now be allowed to open, we will not be opening our doors for public access just yet.

"We will continue with our popular, non-contact email and collect service and home deliveries for the next few weeks.

"We are operating in this way to protect our team and customers and to give us plenty of time to prepare our store for social distancing.

"Thank you to all our customers both old and new for your fabulous support.

"We look forward to welcoming you all back through our doors soon and will update you when we are ready to open."
