Two more stores are shutting up shop, in a fresh blow for Aberystwyth town centre.
The Cambrian News reported last week that Clinton Cards will close after decades on the town’s main shopping street.
And this week jewellery store Rhiannon shut the doors for the last time at its Terrace Road store, while clothing shop Eto in Eastgate Street will close up for good on Saturday.
The Rhiannon store also has a centre in Tregaron and a post on the store’s Facebook page said efforts would be concentrated on that, now the Aberystwyth store had closed.
It said: “With its door closed for the last time at the end of the afternoon today (Saturday, 25 January), the history of Rhiannon Aberystwyth shop has come to an end.
“Thanks to all who have been supporting us by calling into our Aberystwyth shop.
“From now on we will be focusing on developing Rhiannon Centre in Tregaron.”
Eto had opened initially as a short-term pop-up shop, but stayed open longer than initially expected.
On the shop’s Facebook page there was a thank you to customers for their support.
