A TYWYN business is celebrating one year of trading and the employment of its 100th worker.
It’s been little over a year since ex-Halo Foods MD Robin Williams opened the doors to an empty factory unit in Tywyn and, as Brighter celebrates its first birthday, he and his now 100 strong team are also celebrating a year of outstanding sales growth and a series of highly successful product launches.
All of this contributed to Brighter being awarded Welsh Business Start- Up of the year at the end of 2015.
Having spent 13 years in the sector, Brighter Foods’ founder and MD Robin Williams started out with a vision to innovate and manufacture high quality snack bars, focusing on niche and growth categories such as gluten free and high fibre/low fat.
Following the closure of another snack bar manufacturer in the locality, Brighter Foods, backed by the Welsh Government and a handful of private investors, was able to reopen the factory unit in Tywyn, restoring the local economy and capitalising on a highly experienced pool of talent.
Despite being the driving force behind Brighter Foods’ incredible first year, Robin is quick to acknowledge the instrumental role of the brilliant Brighter team in achieving success so early on.
“Brighter is built entirely on people and we are incredibly fortunate to be able to draw upon the experience and skills of such a highly dedicated workforce at every level of the business.”
Having quickly established brand partnerships and a position of excellence within the industry in terms of quality of innovation and service, Brighter continues to build relationships with new brand partners both in the UK and across Europe.
With further plans for growth and site expansion in 2016, Robin says he and his Brighter team “are very proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short period of time and we now look forward to what 2016 has in store”.
With order volumes on the rise and a number of new product launches in the pipeline for this year, the future certainly looks Bright for Brighter Foods.
