A 71-year-old man who was stabbed in an incident in Borth in February has died, police have said.

Retired butcher Lewis Stone – who was from Burton on Trent and had a holiday home in the area - passed away last week.

Mr Stone spent several months in a coma following the attack close to the Borth Wildlife Kingdom when he was walking his dog on 28 February.

David Kenneth Fleet, 20, has been charged with attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

Fleet, of High Street, Borth is being remanded in custody at the Caswell Clinic near Bridgend.

He is due to appear in court again on 14 June, with a provisional trial date was set for 27 August.
