This week’s Cambrian News reports that the number of cases in Lampeter are on the increase, which is very sad and also extremely worrying.

Yesterday I parked in the Sainsbury’s car park in Lampeter and used the new parking meter for the first time. Whilst I understand the council wanting to gather revenue, has anyone done a risk assessment on passing the Covid virus around?

Firstly, there is no sanitiser anywhere near the meters, but more importantly you have to touch several buttons several times, not to mention when you have to remove your card, you almost have to get your fist into the machine to pull it out.

Sainsbury’s have been very careful in adhering to the strict protocols in place, as have other businesses in Lampeter and I would hate to see the cases rising all because of the new parking meters and lack of due diligence.
