COASTAL streets in Ceredigion will be closed tomorrow as the county council prepares for the arrival of Storm Eunice.
Giving an update this afternoon, Ceredigion County Council has announced that a number of services will be suspended on Friday with heavy winds forecast.
A council spokesperson said: “In light of the Metrological Office amber weather warning for Storm Eunice on Friday, and following discussions within the multi-agency Dyfed Powys Local Resilience Forum (LRF), a decision has been made by Ceredigion County Council to close the following services tomorrow in Ceredigion to protect both council staff and residents and to restrict any unnecessary journeys for staff (excluding staff who will be dealing with the crisis).”
Council leisure centres will be closed and will be used as rest centres if needed.
Ceredigion Museum in Aberystwyth and Theatr Felinfach will also be closed along with libraries throughout the county.
Waste collections services have been suspended and all schools in the county will remain closed on Friday with pupils having lessons remotely.
The council also confirmed that coastal streets, including Aberystwyth Prom and Quay Parade will be closed during the period.
All Care Services will continue. However, issues may occur for domiciliary care staff who travel to visit service users.
