THE future of Machynlleth fire station is looking “rosier” now recruitment issues have been addressed, the fire service has told councillors.

Speaking at a meeting of Machynlleth Town Council, assistant chief fire officer, Robert Quin, and head of response for north Powys, Steve Rowlands, told councillors that residents of Machynlleth and the surrounding area had reason to be optimistic.

“The future of the station is looking an awful lot rosier now than it has before,” he said.
