A “SUBSTANTIAL” amount of cash has been stolen from a popular bar restaurant on the Llyn Peninsula.

North Wales Police are seeking witnesses after cash was stolen from a safe at the Zinc Bar and Grill in the centre of Abersoch during the early hours of Monday, 28 May.

Investigating Officer PC Elfyn Hughes at Pwllheli Police Station, said: “On the morning of Monday, 28 May, staff at the Zinc Bar and Grill came into work to discover they’d been the victims of a break-in overnight where a substantial amount of cash had been stolen from the safe.

“As a result of enquiries made we now believe the premises were broken into just before 1am on Monday, 28 May, and we are appealing to anyone who has any information or witnessed any suspicious behaviour or activity at the time to contact Police.

“It is worth reminding members of the public to be vigilant at all times and to contact the police immediately if you see any suspicious behaviour.”
