ABERDYFI’S ‘aspirational’ fire station has been named Station of the Year at a glittering awards evening.
The Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd, Edmund Seymor Bailey and the chair of the North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority, Cllr Meirick Lloyd Davies, were on hand to present an array of awards during a ceremony held at Rhyl Community Fire Station on Monday, 26 September.
Ten community awards were presented at the ceremony in order to recognise members of staff and the community who have worked hard to improve community safety in north Wales.
Long service and good conduct medals were also handed out to firefighting stalwarts.
The prestigious Station of the Year award was handed to Aberdyfi who fought off ferocious competition from right across north Wales.
This award is for the station that has carried out notable work during the last 12 months and has been recognised by the Professional and Service Standards department.
